Building better drivers out of newly licensed drivers, whether in or out of a Driver's Education class, is our passion. Williamson County Traffic Safety Days (WCTSD) held the first event in 2008 with 5 high schools in Williamson County, Illinois. Twelve years later the event has grown to include over 31 high schools in southern Illinois. WCTSD members include state and local law enforcement, local and national businesses, and local leaders from many areas of expertise. WCTSD is usually held in the spring of each year, prior to most high school proms where we hope the experience will be front-of-mind for the students as they make decisions behind the wheel of the car. The purpose of WCTSD has been to catch new drivers in teachable moments and to correct their thinking and perspective. In 2020, Covid restrictions kept the event from happening live, so we filmed the events for distribution.
