in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
One more update before the next video; deSPIRIA ended up being like an SMT 2 level project. I have all the footage collected and I think it's definitely the craziest game I've covered, the world and story are extremely detailed to the point that the video could probably be eight hours or more if I wanted. I think it'll be in the three hour range at least. I know I said it would be done by now a few times but honestly considering how long SMT 2 took (years) I think I'm making good time. I don't have an exact date unfortunately but it's coming along and won't be too much longer

Another little update if you're curious on how things are going. I managed to track down a really rare strategy guide for deSPIRIA, I'm pretty excited to have something else to flip through for the video. It's gonna push the upload back a few more days to account for shipping but this is pretty huge I think, now that I know about it there's no way I can leave it out. I could only find one for sale and I'm too afraid to say how much it cost but it's all shaping up to be one of the longer videos I've done, there's a ton of stuff to talk about. I haven't recorded everything yet but I have a feeling it will be longer than Hellnight.

Small update - I think deSPIRIA is going to be an early-mid January upload (probably should have saw it coming). December felt like it was a single day and I've been seeing family and taking care of life stuff. Fortunately though I'm secure enough to not be employed for several more months which means I'll have time for an extra video or two next year.
I'm not really sure what I'll do in 2025 but Majin 2, Raidou, and more horror games as I've been saying will be coming. I realized it's been a while since I talked about Last Bible and I'd like to finish off that series within a decade so that might be another project soon. I think if I have time it'd be funny to do an "April Fools" video about something I'd never talk about otherwise, maybe like untranslated dating sims or Japanese horse racing games

Thanks again for the support on the newest video, it's actually another top performer. I have a few more unusual dungeon crawler type games planned and I'm sure I'll find more in the meantime. Hoping to do another upload before the end of the year like I've been saying - deSPIRIA won't have as much dev research because it's the same as Hellnight, but that staff interview does show another pretty funny connection to a series I've covered many times on this channel.

Pretty close to being done with the next upload, I think it will be ready by end of next week at the latest. Life got busy again for a bit but I finally got past all of the most difficult parts of editing and the rest should be simple. I do still plan to upload two more times before the end of the year, I'll have a ton of time in December to work on videos thankfully. The developer research segment on this next one is pretty long and I had to do some real life recording to show everything

Wanted to officially thank everyone for 100,000 subscribers. I started doing videos during the 2020 quarantines just to pass time and it's come way farther than I ever would have imagined. All this time I have essentially continued doing it because it's fun and I like to read the comments you guys post - the channel is not monetized, I don't have an adsense account and I'm not a YouTube partner. I really like to run this channel as if it's still the site I grew up with, where corporate influence didn't really exist so much yet and it was just about fun instead of money.
I hope if you've ever thought about making videos yourself that this channel can give you an extra push. You don't need to have nice equipment or try to play algorithms or anything, I think it just comes down to being really passionate about something at the end of the day. This is easily one of the biggest things I've ever accomplished and I intend to keep going as long as it continues to be enjoyable.
I often get comments about opening up a donation platform of some sort. In the near future I may set up a Patreon or something, but what's important to me is that all of my audience is shown the same videos at the same time, so I can't say there will be any huge benefits or exclusives to paying for it - maybe just your name in the credits or something like that. I'll have to think about it for a bit.
Hellnight is still in progress, I ordered some old magazines from Japan that I want to include in the video and they're on the way now. Definitely gonna be a November upload but it's like 75% written already. Some of these magazines aren't even archived and probably haven't been seen by very many people in the West so I think it's worth it.

Not to bounce back and forth but I just finished up my Hellnight recording and I'm thinking I'll actually upload it separately from deSPIRIA. I should have known better but there is a lot to talk about with each of these and I don't want to have them share space like that - they are quite similar, but different enough that each should get their own video without it blowing up to like four hours for no reason. There's no difference in what you'll end up seeing, it'll just be two separate videos released in a much shorter period than usual. Hellnight is going to be first - it's the company's earlier release and I think in some ways it builds up to how nuts deSPIRIA is.

I'm thinking of increasing the scope on the upcoming Halloween video, likely at the cost of uploading it further into November. The next game I intended to cover was deSPIRIA, a very unique untranslated horror game for the Dreamcast published by Atlus but developed by a company called Dennou Eizou Seisakusho. I might go back on this, but I'm now considering covering one of their other games in the same video, Hellnight. There are some videos on here about Hellnight already (and it came out in Europe so its playable in English) but it's another horror title published by Atlus and relatively obscure. I think it'd make for a cool two in one if I can pull it off

Didn't expect this but the Nehan video is actually, at the moment, the highest performing I've ever released - so big thanks to everyone for taking a look. The next thing I'm going to upload will be the Halloween video, hopefully in October but possibly a little bit after. This will be another untranslated horror game. It's not RPG Maker, although I will definitely be doing more of those regardless of what time of the year it is. I mentioned a couple posts ago that I might be able to do three horror videos this year and I'm still going to try it, with work still being done on the Raidou project I had mentioned. There was a leak recently about a Raidou HD release so I sort of paused it for a minute in the event that it was coming out soon. Haven't heard much else about it though

Aiming to have the next video out before October if I can. This one will be another untranslated RPG Maker horror game - actually two of them. I dug around on old blogs and stuff again and found a really interesting early 2000s Lovecraft inspired duology. The games are called "Nehan" and as far as RPG Maker goes I think its pretty out there, mostly popular on forums and imageboards a long time ago. While Lovecraft is everywhere these days in a lot of big commercial releases, a couple decades ago in Japan it seems to have been pretty uncommon, so these give you an interesting perspective on the concepts. The games also had some notoriety for being pretty graphic. This actually isn't the Halloween video, I have another untranslated game I'll be doing for that.
