Simphiwe Given Maseko, better known as DJ Givy Baby, is from the South of Johannesburg, Soweto and is the founder and owner of GSM Entertainment, a record producer, and a DJ.

DJ Givy’s Father was introduced to quality music by his father, who contributed to the music business side of things, who also inspired the producer to tap into his talent of making music.
He started his music journey in 2004, when he begun deejaying at local events and establishments with the popular kwaito group, Alaska.

During the preliminary stages of his deejaying career, Givy’s music was adored by females, so whenever the Gents see him, they would call him ‘Givy wabo Baby.’ Givy is from his name Given and ‘wabo baby’ is kasi lingo for women, translating to Givy the lady’s man and that is how Given’s stage name came about.
