This channel brings you bits and pieces of my 78rpm record collection that I've gathered over the years. The channel reflects my personal tastes in collecting, with a range of everything from jazz to swing to country to rock, spanning the period from 1925 to 1960. The purpose of this channel is to share sounds from the past that current generations may have forgotten about, with the hope that the music will live on and continually be re-discovered.
All records are played on a Technics SL-1200 turntable, converted by KAB Electro Acoustics to run at 78rpm. I use a Shure M44-G cartridge, with truncated conical styli ranging from 3.0mil to 4.0mil in width, depending on how worn the record is. The pre-amplifier is a TC-750LC, converting to a standard RIAA curve, and outputting directly to a Canon Vixia HF-500 video camera. No additional processing of the audio signal is done, in order to preserve as much of the music as possible.
Enjoy these 78s!
