i want to make this post firstly because lots of other people are and secondly because i have been through this myself
so september is suicide prevention/awareness month and as probably all of you know i have been through it quite a bit in the past year but i’ve been struggling and dealing with these thoughts (and sh) since i was about 12 (and i still do) which is a very young age and no one should be thinking this before they’ve experienced basically anything life has to offer. i’m 15 now and i’ve realised that suicide is not the answer, as i’ve been told it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem and i regret putting everyone through what i was also going through but i also stand by what i did and i needed help and venting here was honestly my way of keeping myself here, hearing what everyone else had to say about me just kept me going, realising that people actually cared about me and what i had to say.
i’m not gonna make this all about me, we have lost so many amazing people because of suicide and it’s not ok to just keep ignoring it, we need to face the problem and to do that we need to talk about it, if this triggers anyone then i’m sorry but life doesn’t come with trigger warnings, you need to get used to that for the real world, people are gonna talk about things that make you uncomfortable or what you don’t particularly want to hear. people are gonna joke about it which i think is disgusting but you can’t control what people say and do, it’s up to you to just ignore it and if you choose to fight against it then good for you.
for anyone who has also been through this i want to say that i’m so incredibly proud of you, you’ve come so far and if you’ve come this far then i believe that you can make it, even if you’re still struggling just know that no one wants you gone and even if you can’t think of anyone who wants you here then i do, even if i don’t know you you are an amazing person and you can do this, prove everyone else wrong, you are strong and you will get through this.
for anyone making jokes about suicide please remember that you have no idea what someone else is going through, you don’t know what’s going on in their head and if you have a problem with them telling you, you might just be the only person they have to talk to, just remember that.
i love you all so much and thank you for being here for me it means the world.
