I received a copyright takedown action and strike against my channel last night and HALLOWEEN: Mask of Evil was removed from youtube, it makes no sense to me considering the hundreds of fan films on youtube all using the same materials and music that are still available on youtube as we speak. I'm very disappointed and feel attacked considering the aforementioned hundreds of fan films. I am in the process of remedying this but I doubt anything will come of it, if you come across this from something you've seen or word of mouth I apologize. I may Re-Upload with a completely new original score out of spite and disappointment as I don't see how I would be attacked for that and don't want my work to just be evaporated. What a great precedent for fandom by Trancas Films and Akkad, whatever specific thing they went after makes no difference, its still a fan film made with love in the established and acknowledged grey zone thats existed for years with all fan films with NO INTENTION OF PROFIT OR EVEN AVENUE FOR IT. They sure protected themselves and their profits from my big bad 15 minute short. This sucks.
