Let's cut right to the chase. I'm an American who grew up around Caribbean rhythms and melodies. So much so that over the years, the music of the islands have seeped into my bloodstream and turned me into a Soca/Dancehall junkie. Embedded in my memory are a selected group of songs that I can vaguely remember pulsating out of speaker boxes when I was a child when my parents would attend parties. As a child I would never know that these memories would spark an everlasting love of Caribbean music. If I can, in some way, share this immensely vibrant genre of music to my friends, family, and the world, it would be my pleasure.
