The piano challenge will taper off videos for the foreseeable future again. Iāll be on hiatus from learning/recording/uploading, but the #365daychallenge will resume eventually!

Another delay on catching up to the most recently recorded songs: YouTube decided in its fickleness to relegate my new uploads as āwaitingā since the most recent update.

Recorded Day 100 of the piano 365 challenge today! This time I hit the nostalgia button with a favorite piece.

Finished Hanon Exercise 20. Taking a week to just review the Shanon exercises and do actual songs before returning to learn new Hanson Exercises.

I now estimate the difficulty of a piece before sitting down to practice. This post explains how I sort them.
For the purposes of this 365 day piano challenge, I sort pieces out into 5 categories.
P - Piece of Cake (no thought needed)
E - Easy (Sightreadable close to tempo, usually only simple chords and not much syncopation)
I - Intermediate (on first impression, I can probably bring the piece to a level where itās playable with some errors, probably slower than the written tempo, within the 1 hour time with my current skill level)
A - Advanced (difficult enough for me that I doubt I can bring the piece to a clean level within 1 hour without significant errors or playing very slowly, but I think I can get a coherent gist. Lots of technical/fast/tricky parts, and/or is rather long, few repeats)
S - Superdifficult (folly to attempt at my skill level, but Iāll give it my best. Long fast runs, tricky polyrhythms, song length of several pages, etc.)
Of the pieces upcoming, the majority are in the large Intermediate range or are difficult enough to be Advanced.
These difficulties are subjective, but this might give an idea of my current piano ability.
