MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq) or PMOI (People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran) is the principal Iranian opposition group fighting for freedom in Iran against the mullahs’ dictatorship.
After the 1979 Revolution, as a political Iranian opposition group, MEK promoted democracy and freedom. In 1981, Khomeini brutally suppressed freedoms in Iran & forced PMOI/MEK to a path that all freedom fighters in history have chosen: Resisting against tyranny. In the past 40 years, more than 120,000 MEK members & supporters laid down their lives for the freedom in Iran.
Now, Ashraf 3 in Albania is home to the MEK (mujahedin-e Khalq), which enjoys vast support inside & outside Iran as the greatest well-organized Iranian opposition group against the regime in Tehran.
MEK Resistance Units lead uprisings & protests in Iran.
Regime officials refer to PMOI/MEK as their main threat & as the only Iranian opposition group that can topple their dictatorship.
