This Channel began primarily as a collection of the few (silent) Super-8mm "home movies" (as exciting as home movies usually are) I took while stationed on the U.S. High Endurance Coast Guard Cutter Winona (WHEC-65) (call sign NRUN) for the enjoyment of any of my old shipmates or for anyone who might be interested. My Channel picture is of me standing in front of USCGC Winona in Yokosuka, Japan.
My Channel art picture was taken on Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park, about 17 miles south of Port Angeles, Washington. "Hurricane Ridge" is a bit of a misnomer. Of the very many times I've been up there I've never felt even the slightest movement of air. The deer in the picture are wild and free-roaming.
