Everyone comes to a hobby in a different way. My husband had an strong interest in railroads from growing up in a small town with two major lines. Our third son was one of those kids you see at the train shows who adored trains from birth. His movement from Brio/Thomas to Tomy and then a real n-scale train led to our family making a home layout. We chose n-scale because we could make a fairly detailed layout in about the size of a door. We used a Woodland Scenics kit and made it a real family affair with my husband and older son doing the woodworking base, sculpting the foam mountain, and laying track. My younger son and I did the landscaping, structure building and painting. It turned out so well that we were hooked. A few years later my husband and I made the Jackson Corner modules and began attending train shows. I later re-made two of the old original club corners into the Sunrise and Sunset Corners also featured in the videos.
