This week I'm repairing down to component level... OK actually repairing a component... in a piece of kit that's well over 40 years old. But the YT video editing work is just taking a while and so it probably won't be ready by my normal 3pm on a Friday release slot. But it won't be far behind, and I may release a short at my usual slot just so there's sometime to enjoy for a moment. Also I have some interesting projects coming up over the next few weeks. One clue I could give you might be: 5104. But I'll neither confirm or deny any guesses.

What happens if you try to play a VHS tape on an old JVC/Ferguson video recorder (such as the 3V32) with the two-head video drum accidentally installed the wrong way round? It was easy to do because there were no locating pins to prevent reverse installation.

Should we try to get the Betacam portable BVW35 working again, even though it's not really needed?

Only about 1 in 10 of our videos are off the topic of audio and video equipment, which I hope is about the right ratio. So please do watch tomorrow's video where we digress a little and order in a lot of water resistant switches for reasons.

Watch this week's episode to the end. Should I return the terrible Bluetooth receiver or dismantle it and investigate?

Which machine should I work on first?

I'm glad viewers enjoyed the SVR4004 repair. So I will work on the second machine (did you all watch until the very end?) and also replace all the capacitors on the audio board of my working machine. I may work on one other machine first though.
I know the solar / Powerwall one is a bit off-topic but hope my subscribers will watch it anyway because there is some good info in there.

Well I thought the testathon videos would be very popular. But they weren't. So I won't do that format again.

By the way, my channel patrons got an extra video this week. Please do consider joining them.

They also get to see most content early.

The next YouTube video is "in the can" but there is no hope of finishing the editing in time for my normal Friday afternoon release target. But it won't be a long wait. The subject? A model of video recorder I've not yet featured on my channel.
