STEFFEN BRIX is a Danish guitarist in the beautiful jazz/fusion/blues/rock tradition.
His trademark is fast and melodic single-line runs and rich rythmic chordal voicings in a personal style reminiscent of Robben Ford, Mike Stern and Pat Metheny.
By many guitar enthusiasts Steffen is considered one of the very best there is to offer - but is yet to receive international recognition on a larger scale - despite his impressive resumé.
Because of this Steffen can still be spotted playing in smaller clubs around Denmark - mostly in trio and quartet formats with other world-class performers.
EARLY DAYS:
Steffen Brix started playing the guitar at age 9 in the north of Denmark - Aalborg.
First attractions were guitar players Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.
In his teens very notable blues and jazz guitar players were of big influence: SRV, Robben Ford, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, John McLaughlin, Wayne Krantz - just to name a few.
