Just letting y'all know that I'm back playing guitar. Playing my big fat acoustic is a bit troublesome on my shoulder, but I rarely use it in my recordings anyway. I can now start thinking about recording again.

What's everyone's thoughts on the "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" game, and in particular, the soundtrack? We're going back a few years, obviously, but not much more than the original Silent Hill.

Just a quick update. "Cradle of Forest" from SH4 is almost done, which will be my next release. I've also started on "Die Toteninsel (Emptiness)" from the SIGNALIS soundtrack. I'm also looking at doing "Tender Sugar" from SH4, though I'm not yet sure how I'm going to approach it.

I thought I'd share some data about which of my Silent Hill covers are the most, and least, popular. "Promise" and "Not Tomorrow" are the two songs which consistently get the most daily views. "Theme of Laura" and "Silent Hill Main Theme" are runners-up. None of these are surprising, because they're the most popular SH songs in general.
"Killing Time" and "End of Small Sanctuary" are the two least popular. "Killing Time" isn't a song I see discussed much by SH fans, so that doesn't surprise me. "End of Small Sanctuary" is kind of a surprise, though, as that is one of the more well known and most beloved SH songs. Maybe my cover of it just sucks. lol
The song that has the most views of all on my channel is one of the few non-SH songs I've done: the "Airwolf" theme cover. While it still gets consistent views, these days the number of daily listeners is pretty low. The reason it has the most views overall is because the YouTube algorithm was pushing it hard a couple of years ago, which put it well ahead of my other songs.
The song with the fewest regular listeners is "Auld Lang Syne"". No surprise there, as it is a song most people only listen to one night a year, just so they can drunkenly sing along to it.

I'm currently working on the other version of "Rain of Brass Petals"—the "Three Voice Edit" version. I want to give it an Alice in Chains vibe while keeping some of the industrial feel. "Cradle of Forest" is still in the hopper as well, but I want to finish "Rain" first.

"Cradle Of Forest" is almost done, but I got a bit sidetracked working on "Dance With Night Wind" from SH3. Silent Hill music is like a blackhole I just cannot pull myself away from it seems.

I'd hoped to up my output on the channel, but a recent health issue sapped my energy such that picking up the guitar felt like a chore, never mind being able to do anything creative with it. But I'm feeling a lot better now and I'm getting back on the recording horse.
I was going to move on to doing songs outside of Silent Hill covers, at least for a time, but working on something I'm familiar with will help me get back in the groove. @marcoramirez7754 suggested "Cradle of Forest" from Silent Hill 4, so I'll run with that one. It will be my first SH cover outside of the first three games.
My goal is to regularly upload at least two songs a month. Right now I have almost a dozen projects in various stages of completion. If I buckle down and complete those, I should easily be able to keep new content coming at a good clip.

"I Want Love" is almost finished. It took a bit longer than I'd planned. Hopefully I'll have it uploaded later this evening. No later than tomorrow for sure.
I just wanted to comment on the SH2 remake trailer. Not the gameplay, but the music. Oof . . . I was not a fan of the new version of "Promise" that played at the end. It had none of the original's vibe or subtlety—just very aggressive and in-your-face. It sounded like any of the bazillion "epic" metal covers you hear of video game songs.
I hope Akira Yamaoka wasn't responsible for that, but I suppose he probably was since he's attached to the project. The guitar playing does sound like him stylistically, even if nothing else about the song does.
Of course, the only thing more subjective than music is comedy. If you like the new version of the song, that's great. Different strokes for different folks!

I was going through some of my partially completed song projects while trying to decide what to do next, and found "I Want Love" from SH3. I completely forgot about it, and did a lot more work on it than I remember. I abandoned it because I really don't like doing songs with singing and reproducing the vocal lines on the guitar or other instrumentation. I did it with "You're Not Here", but only because that's a banger of a song and very popular.
So despite my saying "The Reverse Will" will be the last Silent Hill song I'll do for awhile, I'll eventually finish "I Want Love", but I won't add the vocal melody, basically making it a karaoke version. It will feel kind of incomplete like that, which is why I'll probably release it as a bonus track on my Silent Hill album on Bandcamp.

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful holiday season! I put together a version of "Auld Lang Syne" to help ring in the new year. Here's to wishing everyone's coming new year is great, as well as all the years to follow.
My cover of "The Reverse Will" from the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack is finished. I'm just waiting for the holiday season to pass before releasing it. I believe this will be the first full cover of this song on all of Youtube, which is pretty cool. At least I haven't been able to find anyone else who's done it.

I'm a musician who enjoys playing and recording whatever tickles my fancy at the moment. I particularly enjoy songs from video games, movies, and television.
I'm available for music production commissions. Send me an email if you're curious about the kinds of services I offer and if I'd be a good fit for your project (I am currently out of commission due to injury, apologies).
