It is with great sadness that I pay tribute to the life of voice actor Kevin Conroy, the legendary voice of Batman over the years. I heard the news this morning and it stunned me to my core. Today was the first time in my life that I have ever shed tears over a celebrity death. I couldn't believe it. Although I have only been a fan of the DC universe for a few years, I have come to know and take comfort in Kevin Conroy voicing the Dark Knight. There is always something that makes me feel safe when I hear Kevin Conroy's Batman voice. It feels like I have a friend who no matter how dark and scary things become, they'll always be there to guide you through it. Even when I was a noob at the Arkham games, whenever I heard his voice instructing what I had to do next it felt gentle and comforting. The animated series has always been a good watch in the evenings with my parents. In fact, it was the first of any DC property I was able to get my Mom to watch with me. The way Batman could be tough on criminals while at the same time being there for those who needed him comes with such a special feeling. I will always remember the comfort this man's voice has brought me. Rest in peace.
