With what has been revealed in #SonicXShadowGenerations over the past few days, it's become clear that the #SonicTheHedgehog franchise is now heading down a bad path... But positively speaking, such events have actually strengthened my resolve to continue working on my Sonic AU: #theRookieChronicles.
Two of the biggest reasons for me creating my AU in the first place was to fix problems within Sonic's world and to critique real-world issues, and now with Sonic X Shadow Generations, both problems have unfortunately joined forces... True Sonic fans need a reprieve more than ever now, and I want to provide that (with the Rookie Chronicles).
So rest assured, with how much work I've already put into this story of mine for the past (nearly) year and a half, the Rookie Chronicles isn't going anywhere; as long as the Sonic franchise has problems, I won't stop writing. 😉

After seeing the leaks for #SonicXShadowGenerations, but since my pre-order for it is already confirmed at this point (😅), I'm not going to play the Sonic half of this game.
I can deal with Rouge's back (of all things) being censored (as it's barely noticeable), I can deal with the dialogue changes (even though they're awkward and forced when compared to the dialogue of the original), but the same cannot be said for the changes made to Amy's character; look, I appreciate Ian Flynn's attempts to make Amy a better character, but doing so via history revision is not a smart move, as it removes all of Amy's character development up until Ian Flynn's conclusion of it (i.e. IDW/Frontiers).
With all that said, I guess I'm officially riding the Ian Flynn hate train now, albeit with a more legitimate reason than everyone else (it would seem)-

Admittingly, when Berri was in the Strangers with Rebel, they were both really happy. Now, Berri just wishes that she knew back then what she knows about the Strangers now...
