Long before I was signed to a record label, the great Ian Pons Jewell filmed this video for āRider To The Seaā featuring the actor Christopher Prior. When I got signed, this video was kept in the vaults and was regretfully never released as I released Jezebel and Blackout first..! I really love this video and I am delighted to be now sharing this with you š¤
ps the painting in this video has been with me my whole life - it was in my grandfatherās house in Rome for 30 years and it has been a part of my creative world since my first album as it symbolises a feeling of expression and release that I have always wanted to capture in my music.

I talked to Fender about my long and deep relationship with the guitar, my love of Jeff Buckley and imperfection, whilst getting to play their absolutely beautiful new Tele šø

In this video I wanted simplicity, I wanted something quietly brave, and quietly defiant. I wanted true intimacy. Itās so rare to see people, especially queer people, exploring their bodies and their pleasure in such an intimate and playful way. Matt Lambert and I wanted to express these moments, when something beautiful and transcendent can happen. I have such respect for these performers, and what they have given, with an open heart. Thank you Matt Lambert for this beautiful video.

I wanted simplicity, I wanted something quietly brave, quietly defiant. I wanted there to be intimacy. I wanted to find a place between beauty and ugliness.
Iām tired of seeing women depicted as being hunted by men in our culture. This woman is the hunter. She goes out into the world and sees it as hers - she wants something from it. Hunter is about exploring oneās pleasure in all possible ways, free from any shame. Itās about finding a safe space where this is welcomed and supported.

I've waited 5 years for this moment, Iāve waited until I felt this music was right, that I could stand behind it and feel itās the best and most honest art I could possibly make. I gave everything to this record, all my love, all my passion, every inch of me is found in this music. Now I let it go and I hope it finds you. Thank you for being so patient, thank you for being there. Primal and beautiful, vulnerable and strong, this is my record, Hunter.

A singer/songwriter with an operatic voice and virtuosic guitar skills, Anna Calvi makes powerful, passionate music influenced by flamenco, goth rock, and classical composers such as and . On early albums like 2011's Anna Calvi and 2013's One Breath, she used the formidable strength of her voice and guitar to express archetypal lust and heartache. Later, on 2018's Hunter, she adopted a looser, more vulnerable style as she challenged conventional notions of sexuality and gender identity. As Calvi's music evolved and expanded to include projects such as scoring the TV series Peaky Blinders, the intensity of her work never wavered. Neither did her critical acclaim, which included multiple Mercury Prize nominations.
