My Grandfathers and my Great-Grandfather were incredible craftsmen. They did woodworking their entire lives, and in my maternal Grandfatherās case, literally until the actual day he died. Some of my earliest memories as a child were sitting with my Grandfathers and āhelpingā them with their projects. Their patience and joy in taking a piece of shapeless wood and making something useful and beautiful out of it was quite inspirational. A once strong, proud, and lovely creation as a tree that if not for a woodworker would most likely end up as decay or ashes in a fire. Certainly, my passion to carry on the craft comes from them.
