The r/bluey subreddit is a large, open Bluey community, and one of the few places where smaller creators of Bluey-related content can get some attention. But, they have a history of being pretty toxic to anything that's "furry" adjacent, as I mentioned in my ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐น๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐? (https://youtu.be/u6czqmTxQXE) video.
In fact, the post I made promoting the ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐น๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐? video was removed for breaking their fourth rule, which bans "provocative, sexualised or suggestive posts". Of course, the video contains nothing as such. But users were getting angry that it was being implied that fans of Bluey are furries (and they were bringing up "yiff" in the comments, out of nowhere). So I guess it did qualify as being provocative, since their users felt provoked to make unflattering posts.
(It is ironic that a post linking to a video where the anti-furry toxicity of the Bluey fandom on r/bluey is brought up, is subsequently deleted from r/bluey.)
When I later linked to the latest ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐: ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐น๐๐ฒ๐ (https://youtu.be/I8ZVOfep8JE) video, that one was also removed, and a lot more swiftly. There was no initial reason given for the removal, but when reaching out to the mods I was told: "It was removed for adult content, y'know, cause it features a child and alcohol."
Of course I don't fully agree with that. The show itself features alcohol, and it does so in a casual down-to-earth way, which I talk about in my very first Bluey video (https://youtu.be/gXMwyV3PT4Y). There should be space for grown-up Bluey fans to talk about more "adult" topics. Like cocktails! I also wouldn't classify cocktail-talk as adult content on the same level as violence or anything sex-related. It's mature content intended for adults, made by adults, but not content children need to be protected from so they don't get casually exposed to it (or else there'd be no drinking in Bluey).
So r/bluey doesn't seem like the best place to promote the kind of Bluey-related content I'm making, and it's not unlikely that lot of the dislikes and more vitriolic comments I have received (fortunately it hasn't been too bad!) stems from users of that subreddit. But, there aren't really many other places to go if you want some of those valuable exposure bucks. So maybe it's still worth it.

My video ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ง๐๐ฒ (https://youtu.be/8BfJQSZmzz4) was set to Made for Kids by YouTube some months ago. But a couple of weeks ago, it was suddenly set back to normal by YouTube, and the comments were back! Whoo! ๐ฅณ
But today I suddenly received an e-mail saying that my video ๐๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐
๐ฎ๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐
๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฌ (https://youtu.be/jwVEhwQKKGs) had been set to Made for Kids. A video that mentions drugs and demons (Bird Boy), which briefly shows a dead animated cat (Felidae), which has lewd jokes ("Mmm, daddy's having duck for dinner tonight"). YouTube has decided its main audience is kids. I tried appealing, but the appeal was rejected.
Just letting anyone know if they're confused why comments suddenly get removed or suddenly return on one of my videos. It will most likely have to do with YouTube suddenly deciding one of my videos is/isn't for kids.

Some might have noticed that most of my previous Bluey videos now have comments disabled, that you're no longer able to add it to playlists, that the end cards are gone, and a few other changes.
This is because they have been set to "Made for Kids" by YouTube. It's a label used for content primarily aimed at children, and it enforces certain restrictions intended to protect the privacy of children.
I am, of course, not happy about this. While several of my videos do deal with kids media (e.g. Bluey), I do have occasional adult jokes and topics, and actual children have never been (and will never be) my intended audience. Reading comments from viewers is one of the few rewards you get as a small-time content creator on YouTube, so it's sad to see them disabled on these videos.
But it is not the end of the world! It does, however, mean that I will be more apprehensive about doing videos on Bluey in the future, and that I may try making such videos more explicitly adult-oriented.

I'm curious, what type of content would you like to see more of here on the channel โ or less of?
While I will ultimately keep doing what I feel like doing, it is interesting to hear what others think and what they enjoy.

If you enjoyed my SILVER FANG โ Big in the North video, why not consider recommending it for the Ursa Major Awards in the category Best Non-Fiction Work?
Video: youtube.com/watch?v=o88JB...
All you have to do is use a couple of minutes to send an e-mail to recommended@ursamajorawards.org stating your recommendation (with a video link), and what you want to recommend it for.
The Ursa Major Awards are given to various media dedicated to anthropomorphic arts. You can read more on their website, and see past winners: ursamajorawards.org/
Like most awards, it is admittedly a popularity contest, and I know I don't have the amount of followers needed to actually win. But getting enough recommendations to get an actual nomination would be very cool in and of itself!
