30 years on from its original release, Goldie shares the story behind ‘Inner City Life’, the first single from his seminal debut album ‘Timeless’ 🌃 Written by Goldie, alongside Moving Shadow’s Rob Playford, with vocals from Diane Charlemagne, ‘Inner City Life’ is often regarded as one of the most iconic drum & bass tracks ever made, and instrumental in the scene’s mainstream breakthrough.
In the latest episode of The Story Of, Goldie reflects on his early days with Kemistry & Storm, Randall and Grooverider, whilst also sharing stories of how the track came to be signed, the iconic music video and revealing which remixes and cover version hold a special place in his heart.

Marking the arrival of the collection in truly authentic fashion, an ensemble cast of the two labels’ long-time confidants has been assembled for a campaign that is based on shared experience, raw talent and genuine friendship. The cinematic tale drifts between documentary and theatrical performance – weaving a narrative of camaraderie and celebration. The film is directed by @nickgriffiths03 and produced by @andsonlondon, photography by heralded music photographer @kcmanc.
The new adidas SPZL x C.P. Company collection arrives in limited quantities on 12th November and is available through adidas Confirmed, C.P. Company and select retailers.
