this isnโt the first time an innocent person of color was murdered, and unfortunately it wonโt be the last. it breaks my heart that in 2020 there are still billions of humans who are not safe simply because they have more melanin in their skin than those in power... just because slavery was abolished almost 200 years ago doesnโt mean weโre done. we have so much more to overcome before black and brown people of color are treated with the same dignity and respect that white people get for just existing. i know that it seems discouraging and even impossible, especially right now, that we can ever get to a place of true equality, but it is still possible. we have to come together to unite, heal each other, and rise above the hate in this dark world.
please do whatever you can to help those hurting during this time, whether you can donate money, your time, or are just there to listen or be a shoulder to cry on. support and fight for those who are oppressed and let them know that their voices are heard and they are seen. we can all do something to help make this world a better place for us today, and for our children tomorrow.
