Vieux Farka TourĂ© is a Malian guitarist and songwriter. Acclaimed widely as the âHendrix of the Saharaâ, he is also the son of the late great guitarist and âDesert Bluesâ pioneer Ali Farka TourĂ©. Vieux has released 5 critically acclaimed solo albums to date, extending the boundaries of traditional West African music into new and uncharted territory. He has also released audacious collaborations with the likes of Dave Matthews and jazz guitarist John Scofield, and albums with American singer-songwriter Julia Easterlin and Israeli artist Idan Raichel. With his 6th album âLes Racinesâ, out June 10th, Vieux documents a deep reconnection with his roots, the âDesert Bluesâ that his father made famous.
