WELCOME HOME MOTORCADE PLANNED FOR SUNDAY MARCH 9TH FOR ULTIMATE SOCA CHAMPION “BLAKA DAN”
“BLAKA DAN” expresses thanks to the Ministry of Tourism, the Creative Economy and Culture.
Minister for Tourism the Creative Economy and Culture Senator Adrian Thomas has confirmed receipt of a letter from the 2025 Ultimate Soca Champion Wrenroy “Blaka Dan” Ogiste , thanking the Ministry for its support towards his performance at the Ultimate Soca Championship Final held on February 20th 2025.
Minister Thomas expressed congratulations to Blaka Dan for his outstanding performance and representation of Grenada in Trinidad and Tobago. Commendations were also expressed to Dash for continuing to represent Grenada on the regional and international stage.
The 2025 Ultimate Soca Champion stated in his correspondence to the Ministry of Tourism the Creative Economy and Culture, quote “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to your Ministry for its incredible support towards my performance in the Ultimate Soca Champion 2025….. Your contribution played a significant role in my success, , This victory is not only mine, but also a testament to the encouragement and resources provided by your Ministry.
Your belief in me helped me reach this milestone, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to represent our culture on such a prestigious stage…unquote Wrenroy “Blaka Dan” Ogiste further reiterated his plans for the further development of the artform in his community and stated that he is committed to nurturing their potential of young and upcoming artistes with the Ministry’s continued support.
The Ministry of Tourism, the Creative Economy and Culture in collaboration with Spice Mass Corporation is finalizing plans for a welcome Home Ceremony and motorcade this Sunday March 09th 2025.

Grenada Plans to Decriminalize Cannabis Use
Grenada’s government is preparing to introduce a law that will decriminalize cannabis for both religious and recreational use. Agriculture Minister Lenis Lennox Andrews confirmed that this legislation is expected to be in place by late 2025.
This move represents a major shift in Grenada’s stance on cannabis. The new law will set clear guidelines for responsible use, keeping in line with global trends where more countries are easing restrictions on cannabis.

REMINDER: VEHICLE IMPORTATION BAN IN EFFECT—SRO 43 OF 2020
19th February, 2025: - The Grenada Customs and Excise Division reminds all importers that the ban
on the importation of vehicles aged ten (10) years and over, which took effect on July 1, 2020, remains
in force.
Therefore, Customs cannot release vehicles that do not comply.
To ensure compliance, imported vehicles must have a manufactured date that is less than 10 years old at
the time of landing in Grenada. Importers are strongly advised to verify the vehicle’s manufactured date
before purchasing and account for shipping times to avoid any inconvenience.
