Here's the training of a masters cyclist the year before winning his first UCI Gran Fondo race.
Specifically, you'll learn what particular areas of his training we focused on.

It's also a demonstration of the persistent mentality that's required to succeed with ambitious goals.

Don't have time for long rides, but want to improve your cycling power?

"That's simple, I'll just increase my exercise intensity to compensate."

Said every age-grouper before overreaching and parking the bike permanently.

I don't think polarized training is the be-all and end-all in cycling training. HOWEVER...

...it is a very effective and easy-to-execute training model, with applications for novice and experienced athletes alike.

When Stöggl & Sperlich tested 9 weeks of polarized training against other training modalities back in 2014, the polarized model came out on top.

The well-trained endurance athletes who participated (cyclists, triathletes etc.) tested a whopping 12% increase in VO2 max and 8% greater power at 4 mmol/L after 9 weeks.

I've made a simple training plan framework based on the model applied in the Stöggl & Sperlich paper, along with some comments on how to adjust it to your needs.

You can find it all inside this post:

Imagine coaching 370 Olympic, World, and European Championship medal performances.

It's safe to assume coaches with this experience have knowledge that could benefit your endurance training.

Recently, a group of esteemed researchers interviewed 12 elite Norwegian endurance coaches. And asked them about their methods.

Here is the insight they shared...

I've created a "Personal Best Cheat Sheet".

It helps athletes on my paid newsletter put the training science I provide them into practice.

Do you want me to post it in it's entirety here?
