The Observatory of Psychology in Latin America (OPAL) is an initiative that resulted from several Capacity Building meetings promoted by the International Union of Psychology (IUPsyS). One of the conclusions of those meetings was the need for reliable information to be able to evaluate the state and pace of change of psychology in Latin America and a space to share analyses on the development of psychology in the region and proposals for action.
OPAL is our response to this need. Its mission is to record and analyze psychology development in the region and its contributions to science and society.
