Greetings everyone, it's been awhile.
I just wanted to check-in and say that I do still exist and I haven't lost interest in aviation, just lost interest in making War Thunder content.

Reminder that today is the start of a two-week boycott of Gaijin and War Thunder. DO NOT PLAY THE GAME OR SPEND MONEY ON THE GAME. To anyone who sees this, we need to make sure that Gaijin knows that we will not take their greedy decisions anymore and want a quality game back.

Not a duel teaser, just a collection of screenshots. However, I will make a statement on how I feel regarding the 'Apex Predators' update.
I am excited to see the aircraft coming with this update. I will be getting the F-16A in several countries and the Tornado GR.1. I won't get the MiG-29A because I have basically nothing in the Soviet air tree.
That being said, I'm upset to see these aircraft being added. I believe that it is too soon to be receiving these aircraft considering the current state of the game. The higher battle ratings (8.7-11.3) are FAR too compressed for these new additions. Sabres and MiG-15/17s shouldn't be going up against MiG-19s, F-100s, F-104s, Jaguars, etc.
It's really bad at 9.0-10.3 because of the Su-25s and A-10s. It is absolutely ridiculous to have aircraft with all-aspect missiles facing aircraft that don't have countermeasures. That's a massive issue that has been a problem for a long time now, but nothing has been done about it.
Speaking of countermeasures, they shouldn't be a modification. They should just be part of the aircraft. Similarly to how aircraft starting receiving missiles stock to help with the grind, countermeasures should too.
Also, the fact that some aircraft are over/underperforming is an issue, too. There is no reason to have this issue nowadays. If it's meant to create balance, well, that's hilarious. Balance doesn't exist properly in this game, and it hasn't for years.
Back on the topic of the new aircraft, the F-16A is a bit concerning. If China is getting a higher block of F-16 than the US, I'm a little concerned due to the AMRAAMs and AIM-7Ms found in the files. The game is absolutely not ready for AMRAAMs. Also, the F-14A can probably receive AIM-9Ls at this point, and it should.
The rank VII premiums are an absolute joke and just show how much of a cash grab Gaijin has turned this game into. $70 for a War Thunder-level module? That's absolutely ridiculous. Paying DCS price for a War Thunder DLC is just wrong, and I highly encourage not purchasing them.
The thing I'm most disappointed and concerned about, however, is the new battle rating ceiling. 11.7? Seriously? The game needs at least 12.3. There is no reason for aircraft without pulse-doppler radar to face aircraft with ARH missiles. Some aircraft in the 10.0-11.0 don't have countermeasures, radar, or ARH missiles. How is it fair that those face aircraft that best them in performance, weaponry, and survivability? It isn't.
I have more thoughts on the matter, but the update hasn't been released yet, so I will hold off on more opinions until then.
