So I have been testing like crazy the new Asus ROG Ally for the past half week. So far I really like the performance but not a big fan of its shape. I feel the steam deck is much more comfortable with the bigger grips and symmetric analog sticks even though the Ally is lighter. I've tested games from all the launchers (finally Destiny 2!!!), upgraded the ssd to 2tb, tried games from a 1tb a2 micro sd card, docked, yuzu emulation, and streaming. So far I'm very impressed. I'll probably still keep my steam deck (oldest son has been asking for it) because I really like the idea of linux gaming and proton and would like to continue to test as things progress.
I have some ideas for some Ally videos, and if you are familiar with my channel then you know I'm going to answer some questions that I want answered that aren't covered by a 100 other similar videos. I also have an idea for a interesting steam deck video too.
