I used to think the term, slip WYIF (with yarn in front) meant that the yarn would be in front of the peg. But no, it’s actually behind the peg and “in front” of the fabric.
In the picture (which is worth a thousand words) - the slip WYIF was done with the blue yarn.
The reverse is WYIB (with yarn in back) and means behind the fabric. In that case, you don't see the blue yarn because - it's behind the fabric, on the other side.
