Archie Lee Da Hitman
Archie Lee Da Hitman is an authentic piece of Houston’s Southside rap culture. When the Screwed Up Click affiliate speaks, he could be sharing history on DJ Screw’s iconic musical genre.
Growing up in South Park, Archie used to freestyle on the infamous 8100 block of Herschelwood Street, an area where a special hood pass was essential to venture.
It was there that the rapper fell in love with the art, after Archie was introduced to DJ Screw through his friend Haircut Steve, his rap career took off. His artist debut came on Herschelwood Hardheadz’s “A Million Dollar$ Later” album in 1998. This officially put him in the game.
Archie released his first solo project “8100%” in 2000. He’s collaborated with West Coast rap legends such as B-Legit and has appeared on countless Houston artists’ tracks. He acquired his moniker, Da Hitman, in the late 90s; Hitman meaning Archie might have been dropping hit songs or hitting (smashing) a dude’s girl on the cool.
