Hey gang!!! I am putting together a MOHO DATABASE!!! I really wanted to get another video out tomorrow but I have lost control of the weekend!! HOWEVERR: I have created a submission form to collect the showreels, emails and info of anyone who has MOHO EXP! At Annecy, I lost count of the amount of times someone from a studio said "but we just can't find Moho people!" well PFFFFFT, let's show them!!! I am in the UK and I get asked a lot to recommend fellow UK Moho animators. Since most of my experience is in UK and Ireland, I am running out of contacts. I have also been poached to work on American projects, literally only because I know Moho.

My Moho Magic course with Adam's Animation Academy starts on MONDAY! and I am SO EXCITEDDDD aaaahhhh. It's honestly feeling a little like waiting for Christmas Day. I have been training people in Moho for most of the year now, and there's DEFS things I am spotting that could help...
💫DROP THE RESISTANCE
I promise, I beg, you will always find literally everything in life easier if you can start spotting where resistance comes up for you and gently tackle it. Coming to a new software with thoughts like ‘but such and such is better,’ are SO unhelpful because EVEN THOUGH you think you are right, it makes zero difference. Absolutely zero. Sorryyyy.
🌟ASK "What is the same or similar?"
It might not feel like it at the start of your career (or even in the middle!) but there are actually so many similarities that we can cling to when learning. For one thing, you can already animate - woo hoo, you can do the hard bit! The rest is just the ‘how.’ Timelines, while they might appear visually different, operate the same way in every single package. Movement happens over time, left to right, punctuated by Keys or poses. It’s the same in Moho, Maya, Max, Animate, Blender, Toonboom and a million more. And that's just timelines! :D
🧙♂️Keep going with an open mind
Once you have dropped resistance and identified all the things you already know, I swear you are already 80% of the way there. NOW, and only now, you’re allowed to start identifying what is different. Adopting a ‘what does this button do?’ attitude is my own personal method for learning software, and I have learned loads this way.
So those are the three things I try so hard to remind students and animators when I am training. It’s not a trap. It’s not a test. It’s not a personal failure you have to pack away as a new core memory. It’s just some software buttons that you haven’t clicked yet! Click them! It’s FUN!

One of my favourite people using Moho just made and shared a brilliant course for free, all about animating Typography. Really essential for Motion Graphics projects and using my beloved Moho!!! A brilliant video, one of the best course creators out there (and best tutorial voice!!!)
