It’s an honor and great privilege to carry on a legacy. ✨
.
What I knew from an early age is that my great-grand father (pictured below) provided an amazing life for himself and my great grandmother (red-haired fox, top left). They spent their working years in fast-paced NY and retired to the sunny state, FL, for a more peaceful life.
.
My grandfather actually met my Ggma styling her hair and he is the reason that, to this day, she is a red head at 90 years young. Today I carry the tremendous honor of finishing what my Ggpa started. Not only do I still keep my Ggma's grays in check, I have found my own way of providing in the same field as my grandfather.
.
I knew even back when I was 5, playing with my My-Sized Barbie that I was given a gift. My family poured into my talent and creativity (peep my FIRST salon, second pic). It’s something I pushed to the back burner in my college years but the universe said “ummmm pause, let your gifts be gifts.”
.
After 29 years, what was once hairstyles for my baby sis when I was in middle school, free styles for my besties in high school, and kind favors for my roommate in college, is now a thriving business!
.
I’m just so thankful for all the many blessings, every ounce of support we receive in abundance, all the passed on energy from the ancestors and the undeniable protection and covering of my great grand father.
.
It’s important to tap in, acknowledge and give honor to those who made a way. Thank you Leroy Gould for leaving bread crumbs. I am forever grateful. 🙌🏾
