Happy New Year to all my awesome Zentangle friends! I'm happy to say that I'm feeling better each day and hope to start recording my videos again soon. My energy level is low, but it's only been three weeks, so I'm trying to be patient. I appreciate all the emails, prayers, and positive energy that has been sent my way. You all warm my heart so very much!
May we all have a very happy and healthy new year! Sending love and hugs to you all!

Hello my Zentangle friends! I'm so happy to be home from the hospital and recovering. I'm getting a little better every day. I've been watching the latest Zentangle Project Pack 25 videos and I've enjoyed them so much. If you don't know about this project pack, you can find the videos here: youtube.com/@Zentangle/videos. All of these tiles are done in black-and-white, and they use basic patterns. You don't need to purchase the project pack, but it is available at zentangle.com/collections/project-packs.

If you're new to Zentangle, you might not be aware that the previous Project Packs are available to watch on the Zentangle YouTube channel. I especially love the first project packs and still learn a lot from them. There is a list available on the Tangle Patterns website here: tanglepatterns.com/zentangles/zentangle-project-pa….

Have fun! I hope to be back soon! Thank you for all the prayers and positive thoughts that have been sent my way. I appreciate it so very much!!
Happy tangling!
Barbara

I have received such wonderful messages from my Zentangle friends. This is a prayer from one of my YouTube followers, Katarina Hult, and she gave me permission to share it. I am so grateful for my Zentangle community! 🥰❤️

May you have good days.
May your pens never dry out.
May you still giggle of joy when you find a new pattern.
May your mind and soul be at peace in every line you draw.
May the shading give you more perspective on life
May the sparkle give you the extra light you need.
May you have an endless kneeded eraser for the hardest patterns.
May the easy patterns give you joy and serenity.
May you have someone to dry your tears if you need to cry. And
May you have lots of laughters with a lot of friends.
Life's precious (or perhaps line's precious?)

Today I uploaded a video to introduce a new prompt (or you can call it a challenge) using 10 patterns that I’ve taught recently on my YouTube channel. I also provided a choice of two strings to use with patterns. In my video for tomorrow, I will show two tiles using these strings and patterns. I’ve enjoyed teaching these tangles and it’s fun to combine them again in new ways and get even more practice using them.

You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/dYKsMTF0-Ng

Below you will find the patterns used in this prompt, with links to previous videos and step outs.

Today I shared a video showing a string in the shape of a star that was shared by CZT Sandy Kelley-Jones in her Facebook group called Today's Tangles: Keeping It Classic. The string is beautiful and can be used in many ways, but Sandy's prompt suggested filling it with the pattern 'Nzeppel by Zentangle.

I am sharing Sandy's image of her step outs with her permission. I'm also including my version of the step outs. I hope both of these are helpful to you.

The video is here: https://youtu.be/LZGCh7FKJVY

This image is part of my video that will be uploaded today. I am trying a new idea to show you a Zentangle string with 8 patterns as a prompt for you to create a new tile. Many of us wonder where to start when creating a tile, and I'm hoping this can help those who don't have access to Facebook groups that offer similar prompts. I'm calling this first one #NotPerfectPrompt01. Let me know what you think!

In case you missed it, I want to share a link to the recording of the live stream video from Zentangle founders Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas that was shown today, July 15, in honor of the first "International Day of Zentangle". I love watching Rick and Maria and they gave a brief history of how they began teaching the Zentangle method. They also introduced a beautiful new pattern named "izod" in honor of this day.

You can find the recording here on their YouTube channel: youtube.com/live/dW1Vqs4k-yw

In today's video, I show some fun ways to play with fragments and reticula. You can use this image to print a full size page (preferably on cardstock) and then cut them out. I include four of each pattern so that you can arrange them in a grid, turn them, and use various patterns to create a tile. See the video for more ideas! https://youtu.be/Xt6xbwZ0kUs

In a recent video about Zentangle step outs, I mentioned that the links to step outs in the older Zentangle newsletters may not work. I'm happy to say that I learned today that the links are now working. Hooray!! I love the information in the older newsletters, and I want to share the link: zentangle.com/pages/newsletter You can see the latest newsletters and also sign up to receive these as they are posted.

If you scroll down, you'll see newsletters from now and all the way back to 2005! Also look at the bottom of the page for links to more information such as the Zentangle blog. The Zentangle website is an awesome resource!

Happy Tangling!
Barbara
