so bad news, turns out i didnt fix my sony vegas. i thought reinstalling it had fixed the constant crashing but i guess it was only a temporary fix because its gone right back to crashing again. i dont know what the issue is but i suspect its just because my laptop is old and its not made to do video editing, so i guess until i get a new laptop i cant make videos, sorry
