A Tribute to the Legendary Peggi Blu
Today, we remember the incredible life and career of the legendary singer, Peggi Blu. Known for her powerful voice and dynamic performances, Peggi was not only a celebrated artist but also a beloved vocal coach on American Idol.
Two years ago, we had the privilege of interviewing Peggi, thanks to Clyde Bullard, about her journey in the music industry. From her early days as a session background singer in 1973, to becoming the 1986 'Star Search Grand Champion (Female Vocalist)', and the winner of the 2013 Malibu Music Awards ('Vocal Coach of the Year'), her story was one of resilience, passion, and unyielding dedication to her craft.
Peggi's contributions to music were vast and varied. She worked with a "who's who" of popular artists, from Barbra Streisand to Bob Dylan to Quincy Jones. Her voice graced countless Broadway plays and musicals, and she sang backup for some of the biggest names in the industry.
As we mourn her passing, let's celebrate her life and the joy she brought to so many through her music. I invite you to watch our two part interview, where Peggi shared her experiences, insights, and the love she had for her craft.
