My guess is arceus created most of the trio legendary's to fulfill some purpose like the creation trio to stabilize time and space and anti matter and the weather trio to create the land and sea and then a trio master for most so the other 2 legendary's are kept in balance while lesser legends are created by legendary's like regigigas

To me, the most important part of a legendary pokemon is not the design, but the lore behind them. That is why my most favorite group is the Creation Trio, because they have the deepest and most interesting lore and also the connection to Arceus and the Lake Trio. Creation trio easy. Robust lore.

Honestly, the only hope for the Pokemon side is the Creation Trio in Round 1 and that's only because I'm not sure how potent Dialga's time hax is. Otherwise, every other round goes to the Digimon. My favorite trio is the Beasts, followed by the Birds, and with third being the Tao trio. My least favorites are the Titan, Neo-Titan, and Light trios. Neo-Titan trio being Regigigas, Regilekki, and Regidrago. I really like Pokémon that are heavily animal-like, and to me a trio should be balanced in some way.

We can't argue Pokemon using the bible as a reference. It just isn't going to work. But I can argue that Dialga and Palkia are more powerful because they control time and space, where as the weather trio only control the weather. I can then argue that Celebi is more powerful because it can time travel. Although it may not be inherently strong
