played this during the summer and its now my default favorite zelda game ever (yes seriously - Zelda 2 is/was my favorite Zelda of all time). It has an amazing expanded quest, doesnt feature any of the usual BS that typically accompanies fan made games (cheap deaths, poor enemy placement, etc), and uses the actual OG game executable, which means it controls/feels **identical** to the NES game.

The palette comes from various colors found in Minish Cap's color palette (like the interiors of the Royal Castle, the Carpet flooring, etc). The Link sprite came from this Zelda 2 Link Remake GIF that I found while looking for inspiration for this piece. Zelda 2 is definitely up there in terms of difficult games but i didnt think doom eternal was crazy hard, ultra nightmare was definitely easier on eternal than doom 2016 anyways. Maybe if youre playing on console with a controller yeah i could see it being bad but mnk and good twitch reflexes make it not so bad.

This of course is very little to go on but some believe that it's a hint that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess remaster may have actually been ready to be released in 2021 but Nintendo could be holding out to launch it on the Switch 2.. Congratulations! Zelda 2 is definitely a game that gets a lot easier once you beat it for the first time and know what you're doing. I played it a million times as a kid and it was one of my favourite games but I could never get very far and would constantly just restart it, thinking that would help somehow.
