The theorist believed that because Nurse Joys are so adept at healing, that is their Pokémon ability. It also stands to reason that by working with a Chansey or her other evolutions, those abilities are buffed or compounded to make the healing even more effective. However, the theory's biggest evidence came from an idea that stemmed from an in

It comes from the games which had the same nurse model in every Pokemon Center. Since that was already a thing, why design a whole new nurse character for each Pokemon Center. They could have given them different names, I'll grant you. There is an episode in the anime where the gang meet a Joy, her daughters and her husband.

A recent fan theory may have just turned the Pokémon anime on its head, giving a better explanation for the bizarre case of Nurse Joy than the official story. The show has often come up with strange backstories for some of the weirder elements it has had to adapt from the games, but its reasoning behind different Nurse Joys being found throughout the various regions has always seemed a little

Game Theory: Nurse Joy is a Pokemon! Ok so are we just gonna overlook the fact that he also sent a video called "You should eat your pokemon". My head cannon since I was a kid was that nurse joy was a reference to the Chinese tale of a Fairy from heaven who removed her clothes to bath on earth and ended up marrying a human man.

Another peculiar detail is that an older Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny has never appeared in the franchise. While fans have seen a younger Nurse Joy in Marnie and Paige, it seems like both Joy and Jenny stop aging at a certain point. There are no older Joys or Jennys to teach the younger ones or to offer the wisdom of an elder.

No. My theory is far more mundane. Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny are characters played by women in the Pokémon healthcare profession and police department, respectfully. They use wigs and/or hair dye to match colors, colored contacts to match eyes, and, obviously, uniforms that vary based on their care center/police department.

I get that Jenny can be serious at times, but even she's happy most often. How about specific Pokémon evolution, like level up pre-Joy/Jenny with an injured Pokémon, and it evolves into Nurse Joy and the injured Pokémon is healed. And pre-Joy/Jenny with any Pokémon associated with police/Justified ability gives Officer Jenny.
