It's just there. When something (non-tick) bites, they leave their saliva/venom and you may have a reaction to it that can cause the redness and the hardened spot. To me, this sounds more like a reaction to some sort of insect bite. EM rashes don't really itch either, but tick bites can feel itchy after the tick has been removed. I hope
