When Nick's mother says about Charlie: "you seem much more yourself around him", it goes straight to my heart. Cause that's what I believe a good relationship is, when you are able not only to "be" yourself but sometimes even "become" yourself because you didn't even know before. And a parent noticing that says so much about them actually caring about their kids ❤️

I love that even though Nick didn't really understand his feelings and why he was attracted to Charlie and despite being confused and scared, he never once pushed Charlie away but instead sought his presence even more.. It's so wholesome and refreshing seeing as in media the guy in Nick's position would usually push their love interest away or hurt them somehow

It’s so refreshing to finally see a character that doesn’t push their lover away in the process of figuring out their sexuality. And even while Nick is figuring himself out, he’s never mean, cold, or resentful to Charlie. He always takes Charlie’s feelings into consideration and thinks about how his choices will/could affect Charlie. Nick is such good representation for kids/teens and even adults that may be feeling alone or struggling with their sexuality. It’s so comforting to see someone express that it is okay to be bisexual, and that you can take your time figuring it out. I love this show so so SO much. Words can’t explain

When Nick was explaining to Charlie his hand made gift and saying he didn’t have enough time to buy him a gift not knowing that handmade gifts are much more meaningful than a store bought item. Also he didn’t have time to buy him a gift but he took the time to decorate the frame and pick out his favorite picture and telling Charlie that that was his favorite day. ❤

As a cis straight female who’s always been a LGBTQ+ supporter, this show has given me an even greater appreciation for the term “love is love.” This sounds ignorant to say, but I can’t underestimate how many times during Nick and Charlie’s sweet moments alone that I didn’t even think about the fact that they were boys. All I felt was that sweet, first love kind of feeling. The same type of feeling I felt when I was a teenager with my first love (who was a cis, straight male - as far as I know) and that ALL of us should feel comfortable regardless of who that first love is. THIS SHOW AND GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES IS SO IMPORTANT!!
