Sobbing my heart out till “obeying traffic laws in GTA5” it may be stupid but that little sentence made me giggle through the tears. I always did obey the traffic laws in that game and it brought me back to a moment I was happy. This song really touches my soul in a special way. I’m not doing so well mentally right now, on the brink of giving up but at least Bo can still put a little smile on my face even if it is just for a second and in the middle of tears. Thank you, Bo.

Wow. Bo really put his heart and soul into some of the later songs in this special. What an interesting song this one is. It’s not instrumentally or vocally grand by any respect, it’s quiet and Bo’s voice sounds almost broken and deceased of all major emotion. This song hits you from an emotional standpoint, and it hits HARD. A majority of the song is Bo listing a lot of the things that our modern society consists of, but not in a cynically witty way, more so in a depressing way that tells you “is this really what we’ve turned into?” It almost goes hand-in-hand with Welcome to the Internet in that aspect and it does it just as well in my opinion. The guitar isn’t knock your socks off incredible, but it’s really soothing and perfect for the bleak, depressed undertone of this song. Bo does an incredible job vocally as well like usual. He keeps it at a minimum volume for the majority of the song until the end where he sort of pops it off a little, which fits as the lyrics are “it’ll be over soon, you wait.” There’s a lot of ways that this could be interpreted but the way Bo sings in this final section helps me think he meant it in a hopeful way. Whatever that may be. I’ll never get tired of this one its truly incredible.
This song ranks #6 out of 32 in my personal ranking

Sometimes I feel like I’m still a kid reacting to the world make its own decisions, then I realize we are grown up and we are the world. We are the adults and then I get that funny feeling I never had when I was a kid, but that feeling only exists because I was a kid and I remember. If that makes sense.

I always associated "that funny feeling" in this song with like peace. And I think the song is describing it as a "funny feeling" because it's just a trace amount. Hence all the ironic events described throughout. They're all something done happily or things that are fine, mixed with some corporate or modern twist. "Obeying all the traffic laws in Grand theft auto 5, the surgeon generals pop up shop, the Pepsi halftime show." Like all the things that used to be more "untouched" and just made us happy have been corrupted or bastardized by modern marketing and profit milking. "That funny feeling" is the faint remembrance of those activities before they were shilled and sold by companies. At least that's what I got from it
