This is the same kind of principle taught in AA (alcoholics anonymous) they tell us to trust in our higher power. We also are taught to ask our higher power to remove defects of character that leads us away from doing God's will and trusting in God. I love to see how Swedenborg confirms these truths for me

Would you trust someone who you’ve never been introduced to? Or someone who ignores you and refuses to respond to your questions and problems? If god is real, part of its nature is that you can’t understand it. But you’re expected to trust it without knowing what it is?

But don't just pick out your favourite parts - read the whole thing, cover to cover. Take notes. Try to figure out why someone would write that, and what they're trying to accomplish
