Something to remember too is how tall a lot of these models are. Bella is 5â9,â someone with her frame at that height isnât going to be a tiny size anyway! Iâm an inch taller and even when I was an underweight teenager I was a size 4. You can lose weight but you canât shrink your bones! Insane expectations.

This is why the modeling industry is known for promoting eating disorders with its impossible and extremely unhealthy size expectations. Like Bella is already smaller and skinnier than the healthy average person, so the fact that YSL rejected her for being âtoo bigâ really reinforces unhealthy and unrealistic body image standards for women

These companies who make clothes that are basically for mannequins shouldn't even hire human models. Bella looked healthy and happy in those older pics. Now she looks so stick thin (and I'm not skinny shaming her) its these problematic standards that are at fault plus she gotta get the bag too so both are to blame. This is my unpopular opinion đ¤ˇââ

Here's the thing. I get being a model isin't a job for every person, being tall means you have a sense of presence, being thin means more clothes look good on you and you need to fit sample sizes whatver. Here's the thing. I think it's very possible for the modelling industry to employ tall, beautiful or interesting looking people and still not expect models to be underweight. You can be slim and not underweight. Just change the weight and measurement requirements so you can employ healthy people.

i knew someone who died of complications due to ED. being skinny is not a bad thing and the body acceptance movement isnât about âskinny shamingâ like some people claim it to be.
but brands (especially luxury brands, that purposefully market themselves as exclusive and as the ideal aka âif you buy from us you are better than other peopleâ) selling clothes that require you to be thin is dangerous and unethical , it promotes EDs in vulnerable young people and the models that work for them. they donât do it because itâs their âaestheticâ they do it because the shittier you feel about yourself the more they benefit.
thatâs how capitalism works guys, corporations want to shove your imperfections in your face so they can sell you the solution, or in high end fashionâs case exclude you from their pretty rich club

If a model who is already so thin is considered âtoo bigâ for whatever company, it is DEFINITELY the company who is at fault.
