This is why I love the fact the characters are older. If the main characters are in their mid-teens it makes sense for the "hot childhood best-friend" to still be single, but if they are two decades away from that, it makes more sense for the childhood friend to already be taken.

I love how it went from Rosamund just going along for the ride with Caroline leading, to her spontaneously jumping out of the ride and running into the woods, Caroline at her heels 😂

I'm not a writer but I AM a D&D player and comepletly forgetting about important characters when actually drafting your backstory is very much a relatable thing 😂

Another detail I like is that Caroline's worldbuilding has imprinted on the history and lives of her characters.
She came up with Elinor (so she exists), forgot about her but the characters remembered.
I bet there's a scar on Leo's leg and Caroline has no idea how he got that. 😂 I love this series, cant wait for the boo

There is something strangely unsettling about a main character both being aware and talking too its own author, whilst being okey that this entity can and will decide everything about their future. I love it but it makes me think "what if 4th wall breaking was actually really bad"
