So true. I too reenact the executioner in reenactment. And definitely you explained it well. It’s very true that most medieval punishments do two things humiliating the person and causing pain especially the ear and nose chopping or cropping,the pillory and stocks,and branding just to name a few different torture methods that had both effects humiliation and pain. I love to see another guy who reenacts the executioner and teaches people about the subject much like I do. Awesome.
