I disagree. We know that the book of Acts was written in the First Century, since all of the New Testament was put together by that time and most, if not all, of the New Testament books were written before AD 70. That and Luke doesn't have reason to make this stuff up. This is a continuation of his Gospel, so to speak.

Itâs an interesting thought, but itâs begging the question that they didnât say that. For instance:
âIs the Book of Acts historical?â
âwell theyâre saying things that werenât popular until laterâ
âOk, but is the Book of Acts historicalâ
Or even more so
âOk, but how is this not the earliest source of these sayingâ
Itâs not actually addressing the question. We prove it is not historical to know when the earliest source of the sayings are.

âFor I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.â

The Book of Acts looks stitched together from various accounts. It doesnât look like it was carefully edited because at places it contradicts itself, especially the conversion account of Paul. Also Paul describes the events since his conversion very differently in his letters. I donât think Acts was ever meant to be read as inspired Word of God but just an attempt to collect the stories so we can roughly know what happened since the resurrection of Christ. We should not view any of the writings of the New Testament as on par with the TeNaCh but simply as a collection of writings of early Christianity. Having them exalted to the same status as the TeNaCh is what caused all the problems with the church.

The book of Acts is a transitional book.
God's focus of salvation changes from Jew to Gentile and from Peter to Paul in the book of Acts after the stoning of Stephen.
Prior to the stoning of Stephen the work of water baptism was required to receive the Holy Spirit and acquire salvation but after the stoning of Stephen through Paul's gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) you no longer need the work of water baptism because through Paul's gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) you get saved by faith alone without works.

But weâre supposed to take some womanâs word 2000 years after Paul
