Modern man is mentally ill because he is obsessed with radical individualism. This channel has contributed to that in a big way with its videos on Nietzsche etc. We are social animals all the way down. Even our reasoning faculty evolved to be most effective dialogically, not monologically. I used to be a regular viewer of this channels content 5 or 6 years ago, but I eventually realised that its regular appeal to radical individualism/absolute autonomy leads to alienation and deep loneliness and is only exacerbating the societal meaning crisis.

This concise video presents a thought-provoking analysis of the contemporary human condition. It posits that the lack of heroism in modern society is contributing to a crisis in mental health. The video suggests that while only a few individuals are thriving, many are grappling with character flaws and lifestyles that fuel anxiety disorders, neurotic illnesses, and depression. According to the video, normality is becoming increasingly synonymous with mental illness.
This perspective is intriguing as it challenges the conventional understanding of mental health. It suggests that the absence of heroism, or the scarcity of individuals striving to overcome personal limitations and contribute to the betterment of society, is a significant factor in the prevalence of mental health issues.
The video also prompts us to consider the societal structures and cultural norms that may discourage heroism. It raises questions about whether we, as a society, are doing enough to encourage individuals to strive for greatness and make positive contributions, or whether we are fostering a culture that promotes conformity and discourages individuality.
Moreover, the video invites us to reflect on the definition of 'normality'. If normality is becoming synonymous with mental illness, as the video suggests, it implies that our societal norms and expectations may be contributing to the prevalence of mental health issues.
In conclusion, this video provides a fresh perspective on the mental health crisis and the role of heroism in society. It encourages viewers to reflect on their own lives and consider how they can strive for heroism in their own unique ways. It is a call to action for all of us to not just survive but to truly thrive in our modern world.
