TIPS FOR QUICK Dhaba style dal tadka
Quick Tip

When short of time and u want a change from dal makhani … make this dal tadka
Wash 1 katori Arhar and 1/2 katori dhuli masoor 2 or 3 times and put in a pressure cooker with 5 katori water .
2. Add 1 tomato chopped, 1 tbsp ginger chopped, 6 garlic flakes, few curry leaves and coriander leaves.
3. Add 1/4 tsp haldi and salt to taste.
4. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Remove from fire.
5. For Tadka , heat 3 tbsp oil and add 1/2 tsp jeera . Add 2 tbsp kasoori methi and reduce heat. Stir for a minute.
6. Add 1/2 tsp dhaniya powder, 1 tsp kutti lal mirch and give it a stir and pour over cooked dal .
7.Add some garam masala and a pinch of amchoor. Mash hot dal slightly. Enjoy
