i have a chevrolet hatchback and had a similar issue! coolant leaks that wouldn't seem to go away!! the first time it was my thermostat, my car hadn't been maintained very well by any of its previous owners, and it was all clogged up with solidified coolant! so, i replaced that.
then it was still leaking, and it turned out it was a bad hose clamp (that was brand new!! darn things!) got a new one in and it's not overheated since! it does have other issues, though... lol
you've gotta figure out where that leak is coming from, run the engine a bit and look around, see if you can see the coolant coming out. then you know what's broken!

U should get your coolant system flushed since you used non distilled water, otherwise you might get corrosion which will make you have to buy a new radiator.
You should also get on top of all of your fluid levels and flushings; like the transfer case, differentials and transmission. You donāt want maintenance on those kind of things to sneak up and bite you on the ass like your coolant system just did.
A new transmission can easily cost you $9,000.
This situation should not of taken you by surprise.
Coolant system failure is responsible for 40-50% of all engine problems.
