Good signing. Front Office can now shift to finding a trade partner for the last starter. Cards should be able to find decent depth for the bullpen for cheap.

Not a bad pick up if true. He's had a solid last few years. He would be a good number 2 still need a solid number 1. gray is 34 so Cardinals have an older rotation that's the only thing i worry about. Snell Or Montgomery would definitely solidify the rotation and they would need to trade or sign some bullpen help.

Yay, they got Gray. Doesn't mean no to Yoshi, but means they have a lot less to commit if they continue to pursue. My guess is now they will pivot to the trade market and possibly snag Glasnow. 11 + 12 + 25 + 25 =72 mil AAV if so, which would put them in a decent financial spot and hopefully have enough arms to cover and succeed

Thanks JD ,I really like that era, the hits to innings pitched were outstanding. 184 ip to only 156 hits and about a so per inning. Yes he's close to home ,born in Tennessee, thankyou for your post and hopefully good news for the upcoming season.👍⚾

I was all in favor of signing Gray as an ace until they signed BOTH Lynn *and* Gibson. Unless they're sending Matz to the bullpen and signing a legit #2 starter, the opening day rotation won't look much better than last year's. Gray seems like another Monty in terms of ERA+ and IP over the past 3 years, but with about 1 more K/9 or so. I have some hope that Mikolas, Matz, and Lynn will have better seasons next year, but can we really count on that?
