love this answer. because Em in his prime when he still felt he had something to prove gave us an impeccable rap style that was second to none. in my opinion reached an ultimate form of delivery where cadence, vocabulary, subject matter, & rhyme schemes were just top notch. only a handful of Emcees ever got to that level and even fewer were able to maintain it

You said almost exactly what I was gonna say lol. Black Thought is way better overall, but my favorite phase of Eminem (Slim Shady) was writing in such an imaginative manner, i think if he sustained that style, he'd be the better lyricist.

Finally we're having this conversation! I'be been saying Black Thought js better than Black Thought for years, and my main reason is also that Black Thought has never had a whack verse or whack bar, and I'll die on that hill.

Eminem is the better lyricist black thought is great but the fact that Eminem can do schemes that are on par with modern battle rappers is insane so from a technical stand point I've got Eminem plus he out rapped black thought on yah yah so case closed but I think storytelling and emotional writing should also be considered when talking about lyricism and Eminem is second to none when it comes to this so while black thought is a great lyricist I don't think he on Em's level personally
